Looking out the window:
Soft darkness, white snow,
And twinkling lights.
Casting a warm glow,
The old fashioned streetlamp,
Makes the snow golden.
The bumps in the snow,
Cast glittering shadows,
By the side of the road.
In front of my house,
I finally think to look up,
And see the glittering stars.
Catching the light,
The frost on the window,
Glitters like a thousand stars.
In the morning,
I look at the window;
Last night's frost is water.
Sunlight bright on snow,
A few flakes drift along,
Through the crisp winter air.
Pieces of ice,
Reflect the winter sunlight,
Blindingly bright.
Late into the night,
My stitches pull together,
A Christmas present.
Warm candle light,
Shines on many precious things,
Good luck for the new year.
Taken out again,
No lights or ornaments yet,
Our beautiful tree.
Today I observe,
The return to normal life;
A bit of a shame.
The moon,
So bright in the clear sky,
Surrounded by stars.
Locking the door,
I take a moment to look out,
And watch the snow.
Trying to sleep,
I look at my window;
Hello again, frost.
Soft darkness, white snow,
And twinkling lights.

The old fashioned streetlamp,
Makes the snow golden.

I've been writing at least one haiku a day since I decided that I wanted to do so on the 9th of December. It's been really fun, and I think, even if it's not happening very fast, I am definitely improving at writing haiku! More than that, I'm happy that writing haiku makes me stop and really look at the world around me, and appreciate the beautiful things ^^... I'm definitely going to continue writing haiku every day in the new year!
Anyway, a lot of the haiku I've written are really bad , so I just selected a few decent ones to share on dA. Also, sorry about the formatting being wonky, dA is being a pain about this submission and I can't get it quite right :\...
Oh, and just by the way, I wrote the one that mentions the new year on Solstice, the old pagan new year, for anyone who thought that it didn't make much sense XD...
Anyhow, I love all feedback as always
Enjoy my last deviation of 2009 ^^!
