In the forest tonight,
I stopped by a tree,
I wrapped my arms around it,
And asked it to help me,
Write the right words,
To capture the beauty,
Of the forest all around me.
I leaned my head against it,
And looked up at the sky,
Crisscrossed with tree branches,
And I realized,
That it had already given me,
All that it could;
Inspiration, and it's my job,
To think up the words.

I went for a walk in our local forest tonight with my sister ~Idzie and my onii-chan ~Lawliet690. I've given myself the challenge to write one haiku every day, and I thought that walking in a beautiful snowy forest would be the perfect inspiration for a really good haiku, but it turns out not so much. The forest is so big and so beautiful, I just didn't know what words to pick. I know there are seventeen syllables out there that can capture the magic of a moment standing out there, but I couldn't find them. So when I arrived home, I found myself writing this poem instead, something that just came to mind as I wrote it. I'm not so sure about it, I'm not really a poet, and I'm normally awful at structure and rhythm and such

, but my sister said it was good and she is a poet so I decided to upload it.
